Early Voting will end on 11/3/2024. To close the polls, the canvass for Early Voting will begin after 8:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024.

• You still can apply for an Absentee ballot during Early Voting or during our normal business hours before 4:00 pm on Monday, November 4, 2024.
• Friday, November 1, 2024, before 5:00 pm is the deadline to have a ballot sent to you by first-class mail.
• Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Administration:

The City Clerk is responsible for administering all federal, state, county and local elections held in the City of Clio. In addition, the City Clerk maintains City of Clio voter registration records through direct access to Michigan's Qualified Voter File (QVF) system in cooperation with Michigan's Secretary of State. Michigan election law designates the Secretary of State as "chief election officer" with supervisory control over local election officials in the performance of their election related duties.

• Electronic poll books (e-poll books), paid for with Federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds are being used in the City of Clio. The e-poll book is an electronic version of the paper poll book and voter registration list formerly used in the precincts. Utilization of e-poll books will streamline the election process for voters and precinct workers, and expedite updating of voter history by City staff after elections.
• Driver’s license scanners, also funded by HAVA are designed to electronically verify voter status and load voter and ballot information into the e-poll books. The scanners have been helpful in minimizing wait times and further ensuring accuracy at the polling locations.
